But is He Not God?

by

The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14b.

Jesus is God

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” John 1:1-3 “The Son is the image of the invisible God …  For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.” Col. 1:15-16.

Immanuel means God with us and the other verses support the fact that Jesus Christ is God incarnate. Jesus Himself declared: “I and the Father are one.” John 10:30. The Jews picked up stones to kill Him because He claimed to be God. But is He not God? Jesus declared: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6.

Today we call that arrogance and intolerance. But He proved that fact by His birth, life, death and resurrection. Those who reject His claims have neither provided solution for man’s sin problem, nor assurance of salvation apart from Jesus Christ. Share this truth today.
