Fraudulent Testimonies in the Church

Success without God is absolute failure. May we choose God’s ways in every pursuit of our lives so we can give Him true praise!

God is certainly at work today as He has always been, and the Redeemed of the Lord need to testify about His faithfulness. He answers prayers and give us the desires of our hearts that are in line with His will for us. However, there are many fraudulent testimonies that should never be allowed on any pulpit. Testimonies of answered prayers where manipulation and unrighteous paths were taken to gain what was sought is not from God. The end does not always justify the means.

God is consistently clear that “If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.” Ps. 66:18. Sin and wrong motives are prayer blockers. So, who grants us the desires of our hearts that are laced with unrighteous manipulations? Who granted you that job, when you knowingly lied in the paperwork submitted or during the interview process?  Who gave you that spouse that you know very well is not a believer and you are unequally yoked? Why did you compromise to get something you were already praying for? Unbelievers may do that and get what they want, but a believer cannot do the same and claim that God answered their prayers.

Psalm 73 describes the prosperity of the wicked and concluded in verse 18: “Surely you place them on slippery ground; you cast them down to ruin.” Success without God is absolute failure. May we choose God’s ways in every pursuit of our lives so we can give Him true praise!
