Practical Love

by

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. John 13:34-35

Practical Love

In High school, Geography was my favorite subject. We had lots of field trips to see land formations, different types of rocks, rivers, etc. The things we learnt theoretically in the classroom we were able to see and touch and personally I remembered them for a long time.

Jesus Christ taught the disciples about love, not in a classroom setting but out in the field where they could see, touch and experience it practically. “As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” How did Jesus do that?

A) He left heaven and came down to earth to where the disciples were.
B) He spent a lot of time with them – many hours every day.
C) He gave them instructions regarding love – put others first, even die for the ones you love.
D) He cared for them and provided for their needs.
E) He served them and even washed their feet.
F) Finally, He died for us as the greatest act of love.

So, what we have heard, seen, touched and personally experienced from Christ, that is what we are to pass on to each other especially in times like these. When we are not loving this way, then we have not really learned love. We need to keep repeating the class of love until we get it. When this is done, many people will believe in Christ.

HAVE A BLESSED & HAPPY EASTER
