WEEK ONE – FOCUS IS ON PRAISE/THANKSGIVING
FROM HOME AND CROSS-BOARDER MISSION FIELDS

Exalt the Lord our God and worship at his holy mountain, for the Lord our God is holy. Psalm 99:9 (NIV)
 

SUNDAY 1ST
Appreciate God for his guidance, provision and grace upon us and for according us the privilege to serve him in the month of October. May his will be done in our lives in this new month of November to the glory and honour of his name.

NOTE
EMS PRAYER AND FASTING DAY FIRST (1ST) MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH IS TO BE OBSERVED INTERNATIONALLY AS EMS PRAYER AND FASTING DAY. THEREFORE, ALL EMS ARMS, MISSIONARIES, OFFICE STAFF, PRAYER PARTNERS AND SUPPORTERS SHOULD PLEASE ENDEAVOUR TO JOIN THE EMS INTERNATIONAL HEAD OFFICE IN PRAYERS. WE JOIN FAITH AND TRUST GOD IN ONE ACCORD WITH BRETHREN AROUND THE WORLD FOR:

  • A STEADY AND FRUITFUL GROWTH OF THE WORK OF MISSIONS,
  • PEACE AND THE SALVATION OF NATIONS,
  • FOR REVIVAL AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH OF THE CHURCH.

OUR COOPERATE PRAYER TIME AT THE HEAD OFFICE IS 8-9AM, 12-1PM, AND 3-4 PM RESPECTIVELY. YOU CAN JOIN US IN PRAYERS WHEREVER YOU MAY BE AT THOSE TIMES OR MAKE OUT TIME OF YOUR OWN CONVENIENCE AS YOU ARE LED BY GOD. PLEASE, ENDEAVORE TO PRAY ALONG AS YOU FAST.

MONDAY 2ND
Praise the Lord for using a church member in Tudun Uku station to purchase a plot of land for ₦120,000 for the church. Pray that God will bless and open doors for him.

TUESDAY 3RD
Praise the Lord, ECWA New GRA, in Gombe DCC has added 5 more missionaries to the 5 they are already supporting. God is indeed answering our prayers in EMS to raise more support for missions. Ask God to bless the church and cause them to expand to the glory and honour of his name.

WEDNESDAY 4TH
Appreciate the Lord for his faithfulness, the EMS awareness in Garki DCC is yielding positive results, we have 3 new additional supporters for the region and 1 donation of a motorcycle for missions while some members are sending in their donations to the EMS Head Office, to the glory of God.

THURSDAY 5TH
Appreciate the Lord for one of our mission stations, ECWA III Laberia in New Karu DCC, that had challenges with their land but to the glory of God they were able to purchase the land at the cost of ₦4.6 million.

FRIDAY 6TH
Praise God for the gradual return of normalcy in Mali, after a military coup that led to the resignation of the Malian president. Pray that this will present another opportunity for the gospel to preached in all parts of the country.

SATURDAY 7TH
Praise the Lord for the success of the Primary School Leaving Certificate Examination undertaken by the final year pupils of the three EMS Children Schools, pray for God’s wisdom to them as they seek to further their studies to the next level.

WEEK TWO
FOCUS IS ON EMS HOME MISSION FIELDS
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:13 (NIV)

SUNDAY 8TH
Pray for the #EndSARS protests against police brutality and high handedness which began a few weeks ago and have swept across different states in the country, sparking a wave of violence, arson and looting. Ask the Lord to intervene and rescue our country from an impending catastrophe through his mighty power.

MONDAY 9TH
CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC There has been a sharp rise of COVID-19 infections, countries in Europe and the Americas are going back to lockdowns to curb the spread of the disease. Pray that God will bring a lasting solution to the pandemic that has engulfed the world for close to a year now.

TUESDAY 10TH
ECWA EXECUTIVES (EE) Ask the Lord to grant the ECWA Executive more grace, wisdom and good health as they lead our denomination in these times of difficulty and uncertainty about the direction our dear country is headed.

WEDNESDAY 11TH
EMS MISSION WEEK COLLECTION FUNDS Pray that the Lord through his mighty power will prevail upon the hearts of all those responsible for remitting the 2nd Mission Week collections 2020 and cause them to do so without delay so that EMS will push on with the task of spreading the gospel.

THURSDAY 12TH
EMS STAFF As the year 2020 draws to a close pray for the entire staff of EMS of ECWA, ask the Lord to protect all our missionaries and other staff in the field, schools, clinics and across borders. Pray that God will give them more grace and wisdom and provide for all their needs according to his riches in glory.

FRIDAY 13TH
EMS SUPPORTERS/PARTNERS Praise God for the life of our numerous SUPPORTERS/PARTNERS who despite the financial difficulties caused by a downturn in the economy over the years have remained faithful in their commitment to support EMS to propagate the gospel by praying, giving and even engaging with us in the field. Ask that the Lord bless them and their families.

SATURDAY 14TH
TRANSITION Pray for the incumbent EMS director Rev. Simon Yako who is going to step down by end of the year, ask the Lord to bless and direct him in his next call duty and for success to the incoming director as he will be stepping into his new office when the time comes.

SUNDAY 15TH
NORTH EAST REGION Dagauda Prayer House in Yobe DCC has been destroyed by heavy rainfall, pray that God will provide the resources they need to rebuild. Pray for quick healing to pastor Dauda Mwa who fractured his arm recently and for comfort to the family of late pastor Salisu Hassan who was called to be with the Lord.

TUESDAY 17TH
SOUTH WEST REGION Appreciate the Lord for the new converts from Iddo-Oro, pastor Ezekiel Maiyaki’s station. Ask the Lord to uphold them in the faith. Ask the Lord to raise more supporters for the region, who will give generously for the work of missions.

WEDNESDAY18TH
CITY MINISTRIES OF EMS Thank God for opened doors through our partners and supporters to help needy people and for safety during our travels in ministry. Some of the buildings here are dilapidated, pray for funds to enable the construction of new ones.

THURSDAY 19TH
CENTRAL REGION Pray that their will be a cordial relationship between EMS pastors and the DCC pastors in the region, to enhance the effectiveness of the efforts of EMS to propagate the gospel. Pray healing upon the wife of our missionary in Suleja DCC and another member in Bwari DCC who sustained fractures on their legs.

WEEK THREE
FOCUS IS ON EMS HOME MISSION FIELDS
Hear my prayer, Lord; let my cry for help come to you. Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly. Psalm 102:1-2 (NIV)

FRIDAY 20TH
NORTH SOUTH WEST REGION Pray for resources and funding to build churches in Kwarebe, Uguwan Mailafiya, Jangali and Gava in Fadan Kagoma DCC. Pray for God’s provision for some of our missionaries in Kasuwan Magani DCC whose farms were destroyed by rain and flooding.

SATURDAY 21ST
FAR NORTH WEST Praise the Lord for the release of one of our missionaries who was kidnapped by armed bandits and the key role the EMS office played to secure the release of the kidnapped missionary. Continue to pray for safety and divine protection to our missionaries serving in hostile enclaves.

SUNDAY 22ND
SOUTH EAST REGION The region is in dire need of more missionaries to propagate the gospel as well as committed supporters who will give generously towards the realization of this objective. Pray and ask God to touch the hearts of people to see the importance of these mission needs.

MONDAY 23RD
MID EAST REGION Pray for the spiritual nourishment and growth of the new converts we have recorded in the region. Pray for the land issue of Ikom Prayer House, some people want to take over the land from the church, ask the Lord to intervene in the situation.

WEEK FOUR
FOCUS ON CROSS-BORDERS MISSION FIELDS
Lord I will exalt you and praise your name for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago Isaiah 25:1 (NIV)

TUESDAY 24TH
CROSS BORDERS CRITICAL NEEDS EMS is still trusting God for the sum of about N854M that is urgently needed for various critical Cross Borders Projects. Ask God to open doors for this funds to be raised so that this projects will be kick- started.

WEDNESDAY 25TH
MALI Thank God for the safety he granted the Amah’s who travelled back to Nigeria and to Solomon Iliya as well who travelled to Bamako to replace the Amahs, who have finally returned to Nigeria. Pray that God will uphold the Mali field so that the achievements recorded will be built upon.

THURSDAY 26TH
MALAWI Thank God for the successful mission trip of Rev. John Mamman to Nkhotakota for the establishment of a new prayer house and subsequent inauguration of leaders who will take care of the new station. It was a success to God be the glory.

FRIDAY 27TH
BURKINA FASO Praise God that despite challenges, ECWA Burkina Faso is growing steadily, pray for support to enable EMS to engage Burkinabe nationals as missionaries who will consolidate the work of missions in the country.

Ask the Lord to provide a motorcycle for Rev. Stephen Adamu to facilitate the efforts being made to reach neighboring communities with the gospel.

SATURDAY 28TH
GHANA Praise the Lord, the crisis between Ghanaian authorities and Nigerian traders in Ghana is being resolved. Pray that the move will have a positive ripple effect on the mission efforts of EMS the country.
Pray for ECWA Ghana currently faced with the challenge of registration renewal, the registration is pending. Ask the Lord to fast track the process through his mighty power.

SUNDAY 29TH
GAMBIA Appreciate the Lord for his protection and provision for all our missionaries and their families in the Gambia. ECWA Church Brikama, has been under attack by evil forces, ask the Lord to continue to shield the church from any harm that may arise from these evil schemes of the enemy.

MONDAY 30TH
NIGER REPUBLIC Thank the Lord for his protection and provision for all the people of Torodi, Fatima, Karigorou, Naimey and Neni Gungu all Niger Republic. They have all been affected by flooding which has taken over the entire villages. Ask the Lord to give them relief.

THANK YOU FOR PRAYING WITH US THROUGH THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU RICHLY AND INCREASE YOUR FAITH IN JESUS NAME, PLEASE LET US CONTINUE TO PRAY WITHOUT CEASING FOR GOD’S INTERVENTION CONCERNING THE COVID- 19 PANDEMIC.

    Rev. Simon Yako is the EMS of ECWA Director. Rev. and Mrs. Simon Yako were the first couple to be sent to Togo, both graduates of Jos ECWA Theological Seminary (JETS). They both started work with EMS of ECWA as volunteer workers in 1985, and were formally engaged as EMS Missionaries three years later on July 6th 1988. On their initial engagement, they were sent to a home Mission in Ibil, Cross Rivers State in Nigeria.
