He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee. Luke 24:6
People generally act on what they hear and believe to be true. Jesus told His disciples several times that He would die and rise again on the third day. Their actions betrayed their unbelief. If they had believed Him, the women would not have wasted their money on spices. The disciple would not have declared the testimony of the women who reported that Christ is risen as nonsensical. They would have gone early to the tomb to see Him rise and not to embalm a corpse. The religious leaders who hated Jesus took His words seriously and acted by posting a guard and sealing the tomb to ensure that Jesus did not get out of it. Believing is acknowledging the facts, being convinced in your heart, and acting. “And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again” (2Cor. 5:15). If my belief in the resurrection has not led me to stop living for myself and live only for Christ, my faith is in vain.
