Why Good People Die Sooner Than We Would Love

M

any people die every day, but we cannot help noticing a trend that God seems to take away the best from families. Have you ever wished God had taken someone else from the family instead of the good person He took away in death? Well, God has an answer for you. The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death (Isa. 57:1, 2). This is a powerful truth from God. Sometimes I think of God as a Chief Executive Officer who hires the best candidates and posts them to serve in various sections of His earthly Kingdom subsidiary. Those who serve well or for other reasons best known to God get promoted and transferred to Headquarters in heaven, where they will serve directly in God’s presence. Who does not want such a promotion?
