We Must Tell What Christ Has Done For Us

by

Jesus … said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” Mark 5:19

The story of the demonic-possessed man in Mark 5 could be the story of each of us. God, in His mercy, delivered us from the different situations we were enslaved to. The Gerasenes opposed Jesus’ mission to preach to them. If they lost two thousand pigs for one man to be delivered, how many more pigs would they lose if Jesus healed more people? Their concern was economics and nothing more. Jesus still wanted the Gerasenes to hear the good news. Without seminary training or discipleship, Jesus instantly commissioned the man He healed to take His place and proclaim the gospel in the town. All he knew was what Jesus did for him, and he told everyone in the ten cities. Today, individuals and nations have rejected Jesus, and all He offers in preference to mundane things. We, too, must take the place of Jesus in our towns and tell everyone what He has done for us.
