NOTE: WE ARE FASTING ON MONDAY, AUGUST 1ST
First (1st) Monday of every month is to be observed nationally and internationally as EMS Prayer and Fasting Day. Therefore, all EMS arms, missionaries, office staff, prayer partners and supporters should please endeavor to join the EMS international head office in prayers. As we join faith and trust God in one accord with brethren around the world for a steady and a fruitful growth of the kingdom of God, peace and the salvation of nations, for revival and spiritual growth of the church. Our general prayer time at the head office, is 8-9am, 12-1pm, and 4-5pm respectively. You can join us in prayers wherever you may be at those times or make out time of your own convenience as you are led to by God. Please be sure to pray along as you fast.
MONDAY 1ST Thank God for the lives, and families of all who labor with EMS in prayers; and as the new month begins, pray for strength and sound health for all of them to continue with the good work.
TUESDAY 2ND Last month we asked for prayers for Peter Michael and family who travelled back to Denmark. Thank God for the Journey mercy granted to them and keep praying for their quick return back to Nigeria soon to continue with their ministry.
WEDNESDAY 3RD Praise God for the Scholarship granted to one of our orphans in EMS House of Hope Jos to study at the Bingham University. Pray for God’s blessings on the sponsor. Also pray that God may endow the child with excellent spirit and wisdom to study.
THURSDAY 4TH Thank God for answered prayer in healing Pas. Yila Manaja from suleja who was biting by a snake. More so let’s not relent in praying for the safety of our missionaries, especially the ones ministering in rural places.
FRIDAY 5TH Praise God for the success of the retirement service of Rev. Musa Adure and Rev. Ishaya Usman who served as EMS missionaries in Sokoto. Pray that the Lord would renew their strength and increase their wisdom for ministry in different dimensions as the Lord grand those open doors.
SATURDAY 6TH Thank God for the lives of 32 people who were baptized in four of our different Churches in Togo. Pray that the Lord will sustain them in faith and increase upon them the Grace to serve Him faithfully.
WEEK TWO – FOCUS IS ON EMS ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE AND HOME MISSION FIELDS
“Those who manifest wisdom will shine like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who turn many to righteousness will shine like the stars for ever and ever”. Daniel 12:3
SUNDAY 7TH PRAY FOR ALL EMS STAFF: To him whom much is given much is expected: Pray that God will grant all the EMS staff the grace to move on with the good work of the Lord despite all the challenges.
- Pray that God would help us to excel in all our endeavor and also give us the courage and cheerfulness to go an extra mile for the glory of God.
MONDAY 8TH FAR-NORTH REGION: Mrs. Daphne Bako in Jigawa State has being a committed supporter of EMS, despites her ill health for quite some time, yet she has been faithfully remitting her N15,000 support pledge to EMS even from her sick bed. Let’s keep praying for God’s visitation on her for complete healing and blessings.
TEUSDAY 9TH SOUTH-EAST-ENUGU DCC: will be holding a prayer submit for donors, supporters and missionaries from 25th-26th of August 2016. Praise God for this initiative and pray that the Lord will make it a fruitful revival in the area of missions in the region.
WEDNESDAY 10TH NORTH CENTRAL REGION: Pray for God’s provision for the sum of N996.984.80 that is urgently needed in the Region to meet some crucial mission needs.
THURSDAY 11TH EMS MIDICAL UNIT: Pray for God’s healing on Pas. J. Tambura who suffers Hepatitis. Also pray for God grace to sustain Mamman Ubale, Shehu and Danmari who gave their lives to Christ through medical treatment from one of EMS mission field’s Clinics.
FRIDAY 12TH MID-EAST REGION: Pray that God would sustain all the converts that made decisions during mission programs in the month of May, especially David, and Blessing. Also pray for the restoration of some brethren from Angwan Allu Bako mission station who backslide to Islam as result of material gain.
SATURDAY 13TH Thank God for the rainy year, it has being blissful by God’s grace, though this is not without one or two challenges as some churches in Debe, Maga, Malamawa, Aimza, and Bilkitama missions stations have been blown down by the strong wind and heavy down pour.
- Please pray for God to provide the funds towards the rebuilding of these Churches. We also urgently need N500, 000 to rebuild the ECWA Church in chibok, pray for God to provide the funds.
WEEK THREE – FOCUS ON CROSS BOARDERS MISSION FIELDS
"I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” Luke 4:43-44 NIV
SUNDAY 14TH Praise God for His provision to meet some of needs of our EMS Cross Borders mission programs in the past seven (7) months. Continue to pray for the over N300m that is urgently needed for various Cross Borders Projects, including foreign missionaries’ welfare.
MONDAY 15TH CHAD REPUBLIC: God has been faithful to His work through EMS Across borders’ in Chad. Thank God for increasing the number of missionaries to 41, indeed the work of missions in Chad is experiencing great growth. However the coordinator and the missionaries are in the dire need of mobility to enhance their work. Pray that God will raise people who will give towards meeting this need.
TUESDAY 16TH NIGER REPUBLIC: – Praise God for the successful graduation of Rev. & Mrs Tanimu from the International University of Bamenda {IUB} in Cameroon. Pray that this training would enhance their spiritual growth and fruitfulness in ministry.
WEDNESDAY 17TH MALI: Praise God for providing the funds to purchased ECWA Land in Bamako. Also appreciate God for the favor he has granted the work of EMS with the Church body (AGEMPEM) of Mali. Pray for more of God’s provision to enable EMS develop the land.
THURSDAY 18TH: BENIN REPUBLIC: Pray that God will provide money for the purchase of Church lands in Godomey, Fidjrosse mission stations in Cotounou Benin Republic; which we are trusting God will enhance the growth of the Church. Also pray for God’s protection on the Church members during this raining season as they worship under tents.
FRIDAY 19TH MALAWI: In the second quarter of this year, the Malawi ECWA Church has seen God led them in a great way in bringing about 100 ECWA Malawi Youth Fellowship (EMYF) members together for a conference where eight (8) people gave their lives to Christ. Equally in June 2016 they had their General Council Meeting which included the executive of ECWA Malawi, Zonal leaders, Women Fellowship national leaders, and Youth Fellowship national leaders. Continue to pray that God will lead them to greater heights.
SATURDAY 20TH THE GAMBIA – Praise God for new mission work that started in Sitanunku on the 10/04/16, also in Lewna and Soma respectively. Give God the glory for a 108 years aged man who came to Christ in the month of April, 2016. A plot of land was donated for church building at Jidda while in Darsilami a temporary site was given to the church for worship. Pray for God to sustain all new converts in this country and also pray for God’s provisions to enable us develop these lands for worship.
WEEK FOUR: FOCUS ON THE NATIONS, CHURCH GROWTH AND REVIVAL
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord” (Acts 3:19).
SUNDAY 21ST CHRISTIAN HOMES: Pray that the Lord will revive our homes with holiness, faith, virtue, knowledge of God, temperance, patience, godliness and passion for the gospel of Jesus. Pray that the Lord will put away far from our homes, every root of bitterness and Knit the families together in constant affection; turn the heart of the parents to the children, and the heart of the children to the parents; and fill us all with true love and charity, so that we can put aside our selfish interest and act with God’s affection and sympathy to one another.
MONDAY 22ND EMS MISSIONARY CHILDREN: Pray for the missionary's Children, that they would adjust to their mission field home, be supportive to their parents and the work of the ministry, and that they would maintain a good Christian testimony in the mission fields. Also pray for their physical and spiritual health and their ongoing schooling while on the mission field.
TUESDAY 23RD CHURCH LEADERS: Pray for deep cleansing, genuine repentance, and spiritual growth to engulf pastors and Christian leaders. Also pray for revival and spiritual awakening amongst Church leaders (Ephesians 6:14-20).
WEDNESDAY 24TH BELIEVERS: Pray that the hearts of God’s people will be ablaze with love and loyal obedience to Jesus as King and Lord of all. Also Pray for God to unite believers in prayer with “one mind,” empowering Christians to pray passionately together for Christ’s glory in the entire world and be committed to witnessing and Soul Winning (Acts 1:14, 2:46, 4:24).
THURSDAY 25TH NIGERIA: Pray against every evil counsel in existence against the Church in Nigeria to be destroyed. Also pray that God will remove any leader or ungodly ruler that do not stand up for righteousness and integrity.
FRIDAY 26TH THE NATIONS: Pray that world religious and political leaders be led by God’s wisdom so that they may search His will and see it clearly. Considering the increasing rate of violence and insurgency, pray that the Lord would give His children the grace to face these ills and may their response be with mercy that will quenches the hatred, and Forgiveness that will overcome vengeance.
SATURDAY 27TH MRS. ESTHER USMAN: Thank God for the life of Mrs. Esther and her family for safety and God’s provisions. Pray that God would increase upon her the grace, wisdom and strength to function effectively in her capacity as an associate aesthetics officer. Also, pray for her family for God’s increasing favor and divine protection.
SUNDAY 28TH MR. MONDAY AUDU: Thank God, for the life of Mr. Monday and his family for safety and God’s provisions. Pray for God’s constant protections in his aesthetics and maintenance works at the EMS head office. Also pray that God would grant him sound health, wisdom and Grace for effective and selfless work.
MONDAY 29TH MUSLIM EVENGELISM: Praise God for the number of new converts that have come to the Lord through the coordinating work of Rev. A. Shaba. Pray for God’s sustaining grace on these converts and for more grace and wisdom for Rev. Shaba as he plans strategies on discipline this group of people. Also pray that all efforts and means of reaching the Muslims with the gospel would be blessed by the Lord. And that the Church would passionately respond in Love; sacrifice, forgiveness and selflessness towards them.
TUESDAY 30TH MR. MARK NAAH: Thank God for the life of Mr. Mark Nah, our EMS project/relieve officer. Pray that the Lord would increase upon him the grace, wisdom and strength to function effectively in this capacity. Also pray for God’s direction, favor and financial open doors for him to further his studies.
WEDNESDAY 31TH: In line with Apostle Paul’s prayers in Eph. 6:19, 20 and Col. 4:4, Pray for EMS of ECWA that wherever she goes with the gospel, God will open more doors to share it fearlessly to make known the mystery to the lost. Finally pray for all our faithful supporters to remain faithful to the Lord as we wait for His second coming.
