Most of the ECWA Church Dankade, Kaduna Kidnapped on May 20 During Church Service Have Been Released

by Rev. Henry Bello, ECWA USA DCC Secretary | Glory be to God! Ten of ECWA Church, Dankade members that were kidnapped three weeks ago have been released according to Zaria DCC Secretary of the church, Rev Nath Waziri.

A senior Pastor of Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Dankade, in Igabi local government area of Kaduna State, Rev. Zakariah Ido, his daughter, son of the pastor of Assemblies of God Church, and 14 other church members were kidnapped during a combine choir fellowship Saturday night to early hours of Sunday, May 19 by over 20 gunmen. Zaria DCC Secretary of the church, Rev Nath Waziri said “It is sad to inform you that one of our pastors, his daughter and 14 other members of ECWA Church Dankade were kidnapped in the early hours of Sunday, May 19

The chairman, Kaduna state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Reverend Joseph Hayab, on Monday, May 20, said the abductors have reached out to the families of the victims demanding N30 million ransoms. Hayab told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna that the kidnappers immediately switched off their phone after presenting their demand.

Glory be to God! Most of the ECWA Church, Dankade members that were kidnapped three weeks ago have been released according to ECWA Church Zaria DCC Secretary, Rev Nath Waziri. “We still have one person left. We trust that he will soon be released as well. Thank you for standing by us.
