Valentine’s is this Friday. Perhaps you are waiting for that special person to express love to you. You may be already getting anxious about whether it will happen. You may have even given up hope and concluded it will not happen like last year. But the problem is not that person, it is you. God’s command to love is not for others to demonstrate it to you while you wait on the wings to receive that love. Love is a gift we give to others. The Bible says it is more blessed to give than receive, which also applies to love. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom. 5:8). God gave us the gift of love by giving us His Son to die for us. So, instead of waiting for that person to give you their gift of love, which may or may not happen, you can reach out to give that person the gift first. You will be blessed and not have to deal with disappointment.
Take my gift: HAPPY VALENTINE and HAPPY AGAPE!
