Father’s Greatest Challenge

by

Weekly Spiritual Digest
Of the many roles a father has, there is one that should keep every father on his toes. This is the spiritual well being of the family. No father should rest until everyone under his household has a thriving relationship with God.

Father’s Day was celebrated this past Sunday in the US; so Happy belated Father’s Day to all fathers. We salute all biological, foster and spiritual fathers. You have your God given responsibilities clearly spelt out in the Bible. God Himself is an experienced father who will help you carry out what He requires of you.

Of the many roles a father has, there is one that should keep every father on his toes. This is the spiritual well being of the family. No father should rest until everyone under his household has a thriving relationship with God. Joshua took a stand when everyone else was conforming to the godless trends of his day and declared: “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Jos. 24:15. Job took no chances regarding the spiritual well being of his ten children. “When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would make arrangements for them to be purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular custom.” Job 1:5. If every father did what Joshua and Job did, can you imagine what our homes will look like? What our churches will look like? What our communities will look like? What our nations will look like? Lord, help us fathers to take our priestly responsibilities in our homes seriously and watch the amazing things you will do.
