The Parables of Jesus Christ

But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything. Gospel of Mark 4:33-34 Jesus often taught in parables, an ancient Eastern literary genre. The prophet Ezekiel, for example, wrote in […]

For there is no partiality with God. Romans 2:11

Is God Partial?

“I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people.” Lev. 26:12 The gods of the nations are terrorists and their worshipers are in constant dread and fervently work hard to appease them so that they do not get chastised. Such gods are never compassionate, they do not forgive and are never just and fair. […]

The Gospel of St. John

A Biblical History The Gospel according to John (Greek: Εὐαγγέλιον κατὰ Ἰωάννην) is quite different in character from the three synoptic gospels. It is highly literary and symbolic. It does not follow the same order or reproduce the same stories as the synoptic gospels. To a much greater degree, it is the product of a developed theological reflection and grows […]

Biggest Problem Known To Man

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matt. 11:28-30 One can be stressed or depressed and not know it. The Gospel of St. Mark

The Kingdom of God The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the Gospel. The Holy Apostle and Evangelist Matthew, was also named Levi (Mark 2:14; Luke 5:27); he was one of the Twelve Apostles (Mark 3:18; Luke 6:45; Acts 1:13), and was brother of the Apostle James Alphaeus (Mark 2:14). He was a publican, or tax-collector for Rome, in a time when the Jews were under the rule of the Roman Empire. He lived in the Galilean city of Capernaum. When Matthew heard the voice of Jesus Christ: “Come, follow Me” (Mt. 9:9), left everything and followed the Savior. Christ and His disciples did not refuse Matthew’s invitation and they visited his house, where they shared table with the publican’s friends and acquaintances. Like the host, they were also publicans and known sinners. This event disturbed the pharisees and scribes a great deal.

The Gospel of St. Matthew

The Lord’s Prayer Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. Matthew […]
